He was part of the both teams handling the high profile cases of the Grigoroussa 1 and Al Samidoon oil pollution incidents that took place in the Suez Canal, where through their efforts succeeded in allowing these vessels to sail after minimal stoppage time and cost.

Abdel Hamid has also handled the collision case of the passenger vessel Costa Europa that took place in Sharm El Sheikh on 2010 and the Lyra Leader allisum with the gantry crane owned by the Alexandria Container Terminal that took place in March 2014.

Abdel Hamid has been involved in shipping law since 1984. He joined Eldib Advocates in 1985.

Abdel Hamid qualified as a lawyer specializing in marine cases, shipping, arbitration and commercial litigation. His primary area of expertise and experience is wet and dry shipping.

Abdel Hamid has dealt with a wide range of high profile casualties, including collisions, oil pollution and groundings cases. He also deals with total loss, damage to ports’ properties claims, stowaways and cargo claims.

He handles international disputes for P&I Clubs and for a wide variety of clients worldwide in the shipping, insurance and international trade fields.
