El Demerdash is specialized in managing all aspects of shipping and transport litigations. Moreover, he deals with customs cases and its related disputes, especially those related to shipments in containers, from the customs infringements, smuggling cases, to the cases of importing counterfeited cargos and the violation of the intellectual property rights.

Sayed has handled various marine incidents and disasters in the area, including salvage, pollution, collisions, and grounding cases. His experience was the key of settling the major incidents cases in this area, such as the pollution case of the vessel “LANAI” in 1987, “Arab Wender” grounding case of 1998, collision case of “Husar III” with a petroleum platform in 2001, and one of the biggest oil pollution cases in Suez Canal in 2006 “GRIGOROUSSA1.”

He has been admitted to practice since 1981 dealing with shipping disputes in the area of Red Sea. He qualified at a major Shipping Agency company before moving to Eldib Advocates in 1986. Sayed has been the head of our Suez office since his commencement at the firm. El Demerdash, as a senior lawyer in the firm who has gained a lot of experience with issues arising out of Suez Canal disputes, in addition to being a well known negotiator with the Suez Canal Authority.

El Demerdash is well versed in the special disputes of the area and the practical ways to resolve such disputes. The area covers the ports of Suez, Sokhna, Adabiya, Hurghada, Safaga, and Sharm ElShiekh.

El Demerdash has wide experience in handling the marine, custom, and intellectual property disputes. He is proficient in handling ships arrest procedures in the Suez Area and in dealing with the relevant governmental authorities.
